Well fellas after fifty years I've load the pictures of the apocalypse game that concluded our great war of faith campaign. To set the tone of the final game I'll quote Chris' dramatic account.

The last stand of the defenders of Olivette has ended. Surrounded on all sides by the enemy, the Olivette Internal Guard, the Sacred Order of the Bloody Rose and the 4th Company of Blood Angels made the ultimate sacrifice in their defiant defense of the city.
The chaos forces launched their all out siege-assault, starting with their vile magic, that directed the warp rift at the Temple's center. This warp-breach sucked the life out of the air and poured forth Skitter's daemons of Nurgle. The warp-rift was to be contained by the inquisitors on site while the defenders dealt with the initial frontal advance.
The defensive gates of the guard-walls were smashed aside by the Twisted Sisters and Skitters Plague Marines under heavy artillery fire from the imperials. The Night Lords of Vasectomus managed to exploit a gap in the defensive cordon and made an armored push against the Blood Angels, effectively tying them up throughout the assault.
As the daemons poured forth from the rift, the Olivette Internal guard tried to secure the newly found tunnel entrances. The Battle Sisters quickly enaged the daemons from the rift which pulled more and more of their numbers away from the primary fight. Inquisitor Helgard rushed to assist from the HQ while the rest of the guard dealt with enemies on all fronts.
High Command identified the source that was powering the rift and quickly issued orders to capture and destroy it. An Eversor assassin was dispatched to the area, but he quickly became bogged down in an assault with deamons guarding the area. The Eversor was not heard from again. Several artillery rounds were sent down range to help assist, but the portal could not be held, even with the aid of two air-dropped stormtrooper teams.
At the temple, a massive melee ensued between the sisters and the daemons from the portal. The sisters managed to contain the breach, but at some cost.
The Blood Angels, reeling from a combined armored assault by the Night Lords, now had to deal with one of Lord Skitter's valued war-prizes.....a Plaguereaper super-heavy tank that was hammering them from the front, spewing vile ordnance that melted and putrified flesh and armor. Add to that, Night Lord terminators engaging the East gate, the Blood Angels were lucky to even last the battle. Commander Dante was the only thing keeping command integrity in tact.
After spending every resource at their disposal, High Command issued the withdraw order. There was no saving the city or its inhabitants from the vile amount of chaos taint that flooded through the area. The inquisitor council agreed that it would take a great scouring to cleanse the planet of the taint that transpired over the course of the year to restore it to imperial standards. With the order sent, all forces disengaged to the last remaining space-port outside the city. The price in blood was high, however it appears that the High Command may have suffered more from its own machinations than from the chaos enemy.
Inquisitor Cane was still absent from the battle, which leads many to speculate that he had his own agenda for being on planet. There were some sketchy reports of another battle taking place in the city, but those reports cannot be corroborated. Strangely missing from the assault as well, was Lord Dunganesh's Thousand Sons Cohort....could they have been battling Cane's forces somewhere....?
The inquisitor council has issued several reprimands for poor command and control operations against the High Governor-Cardinal and his staff. It is noted that 5 charges have been levied against the Cardinal that range from gross waste of the Emperor's resources in the campaign, mis-management of imperial forces assigned to him, conduct unbecomming of Lord Governor, uncooperation with senior officials of the imperium and the possibility of chaos influence of command decisions. The Lord Governor has been taken into custody aboard a Black Ship where his fate will be determined by trial. The hunt for Cane continues as well as the hunt for his marine forces.
Olivette-III has now fallen and the system has been declared "Perditus" and it remains to be seen if the imperium will declare a reconquest of the system or quarantine it from the sub-sector. |

Chaos forces lined up and ready to break down the walls.
( For the walls I think we used the bunker rules and gave each section 3 structure points. We probably should have given it more structure points as they were broken down pretty easily)
Defilers charge in and start breaking down wall sections.
The marine statue was one of the objectives. I think the Chris took "supreme HQ" as a strategic asset on this point and for my sisters I took the "hold at all costs" asset.

The canoness and her celestian bodyguard prepare for the comming assualt
Battle squad moving into position.
Seraphin face of against the daemons begining to emerge from the warp gate.
Those nurgle 'Puke' attacks were devestating agianst the blood angels.
A demolisher shot for good measure. (poor jon)

Great Unclean One charges the exorcist.
Chaos twisted sister and chaos terminators arrive from the city's tunnels.
Inquisitor Villalta and his retinue move in to stall the daemonic incursion.
The baneblade shells the ‘twisted sisters’ emerging from the tunnels around the temple.
Cannoness Lucilla and her Celestians charge the greater daemon.
He's not happy.
The forces of the Imperium still hold the battered city.
An Eversor assassin charges a Slannesh greater daemon buying the guard more time.
The guard pour firepower into the chaos terminators.
Sgt: Good shooting men! We killed all but one of 'em!
Private: But sir, why are her eyes glowing like that?!
Sgt: Anymore questions private  
More daemons flood from the chaos gate!
The guard supreme HQ still hold our objective but Chaos is closing in from everywhere.
Can’t hide from papa puke!
The walls are breached, the city is surrounded, and daemons are pouring out of a chaos gate in the middle of the city…just another day at the office.

Daemonettes surround a second chaos gate.
Dominions fire their divinely guided bolters at point blank range but fail to hurt the twisted sisters.
Meanwhile more daemons from the chaos gate prepare to join papa nurgle in the fight against the Celestians.
Total War!
The celestians banish the greater daemon back to the warp, but they’re being whittled down.
Only the priest, sister superior, and canoness remain.
On the left flank a glimmer of HOPE!!
The grey knights arrive to help the beleaguered guardsmen and arco-flagellants charge the daemon prince.
(IIRC I made all my invulnerable saves in this combat and had like 21 attacks from the 6 arco-flagellants.  )
The baneblade sends some ordinance down range at the plaguereaper.
Inquisitor Villalta calls down an orbital strike on the chaos terminator squad occupying the walls. (IIRC Doug made ALL of his invulnerable saves here!  )
Hand to hand combat everywhere!
The battle of attrition is taking its toll…
More chaos marines move into the city.
Another eversor assassin charges the daemonetts hoping to break the squad and prevent chaos victory by destroying the second warp rift and forcing a draw. . . .
However Chaos prevails and the would-be-hero explodes as his body's unregulated chemicals react to his traumatic injuries!!! 
With that the Imperium’s last hope for a draw, and to salvage Olivette, came to an end.

This was a really fun narrative campaign. Thanks to all the participants and special thanks to those that contributed the fluff. I think we found a way to work all the games, wins, loses, draws, and even players that didn't show up into the story. I'll bring the final compilation of our email messages by the shop this week if I make it.
