so my wolf list is sitting at 1850 right now. i am torn between 3 units to fill the 150 point void....

first off a unit of 6 long fangs with 5 rocket launchers with a pack leader with a power weapon.......now he cover fire is nice, but with a mobil list like i run they will be left out on there own.

second is 5 swift claw bikers with a power weapon and 2 melta bombs.

or finally an iron priest on a bike with saga of the iron wolf and wolf tooth neckless and 2 cyber wolves...



i really am leading toward the iron priest or the bikes. i can hid the bikes and the priest behind the raider and use them how i need them. with the bikes i get 16 ws3 attacks and 4 power weapon swings.....with the priest i can fix a vehicle on a 4 plus and i have 8 ws4 attacks and 3 thunderhammer hits...what yall think

Guns kill people? What a ridiculously absurd statement! Guns don't kill people, clockwork automatons EQUIPPED with guns do...

I like the idea of the Iron Priest. It is not something you see alot of, and he is a Hero, so you can stick the other guy with him pretty hard, or keep that Land Raider going.

The Bikers are nice, and I think they can be useful. If only as a diversion. And they are not punks, they could be useful in tying up other units, or just drawing fire and at later stages of the game, contesting objectives.

The Long Fangs are cool, but I don't like the missile launcher approach, unless you are fragging the tar out of alot of Orks, or Tyranids. Not to say 5 krak missiles won't hurt a unit of marines, or take out enemy rhino's.
I'm just not as big a fan of the missile launcher since they made the multi-meltas the most reliable tank buster in the game. Lascannons, can do it, but are now pretty challenged by the task.

But if each unit is 150 points of fill, then I would just have any of them ready to plug into the list for a 2000 point round out.

I don't have a SW codex, so I'm not sure about the cost...

There was an article on GW's site around Oct. 2nd that had Phil Kelly's army list displayed.

His unit of Long Fangs was 6 Long Fangs with 2 Lascannons, 2 Heavy Bolters, and 1 Missile Launcher.


Presumably, the Missile Launcher would split fire with either the lascannons or heavy bolters depending on the target.

I thought that was a nifty idea.

Yeah, that is an interesting build for the squad. I want to build one and see how it works. The all missle launcher unit is considered by many to be the most versatile because you get a cheap heavy weapon with two types of ammo that allow you to go after horde and mech alike.

I liked Phils though. I want something that packs a punch. Lascannons still do that to everything but a Raider and it can still kill it.

I am looking at the not often used plasma cannons. Instant death for almost everythng it touchs short of vehicles and it still can get inot most of those.

We shall see. I have a few of them (pc's) lying around so I may jus thave ot build them and see how they work.
